i thought the hoax thing was pretty funny. don't see why ppl are so pissed about it. if the dude hadn't done it, we wouldn't know the title.

the book's already announced on amazon uk and barnes + noble.

this pool a few blocks down called back. it's a community pool, with free, open swim on saturdays + sunday. they need more ppl those days, cuz it's always crowded. i'm gonna be doing the 10-12 shift and the 4:30-6:30 shift. josh is also doing 4:30-6:30; as well as 1-3. yeah it's only on sat / sun, but it's better than no job at all. the pay is pretty good also. maybe i'll get more hours later.

oh yeah. my buddy woz turns 15 tomorrow. guess how we're celebrating his b'day? non-stop skateboarding at the park. he wouldn't have it any other way lol. wow, it's amazing how old everybody's getting. woz is the last one in the little gang so his birthdays are always the indicator of just how old we're getting. lol.

well, the pool's been awesome for the most part. i only work 4 hours a week to start, which sucks, but after another week or 2 i should get more hours. the majority of the job is just blowing the whistle and yelling at ppl not to do dumb things in the water.

just got back from i, robot. it was good. yeah a lot of ppl are saying sucks. i agree that it's got its flaws and is no classic, but hell, entertainment is what i wanted and entertainment is what i got. end of story. anybody looking for some good entertainment + not a classic, see i, robot.

at the pool this afternoon i had to ref a swimming tournament. that involved standing by the finish line ready to catch anybody who couldn't finish the race. everybody finished though.

i'm not needed back at the pool til 6:00 tonight (they already have enough ppl for the 4:30 shift today, even though that's my normal shift). i gotta help with cleaning and stuff. it's pretty boring.

what sucks the most about lifeguarding is recognizing when somebody's in trouble. especially when some people struggle "silently." try monitoring the habits of 10+ people at once, w/out spacing. good thing we rotate every 20 minutes.
